A woman acquitted of assaulting her child with a horsewhip last year has been charged with assaulting another of her children.
She was charged with assaulting her teenage son at Rangitata on January 21, the Timaru Herald reported today.
She was living in South Canterbury when she was first charged and acquitted by a jury. She was granted final name suppression at the the trial in May last year.
A man living at the same address, faced three charges of assaulting the boy.
They appeared in the District Court in Timaru earlier in the week and were remanded without plea for another hearing on July 20.
