One of two women alleged to have scammed banks out of almost $900,000 appeared in court yesterday on fraud charges.
Helen Lillian Climo, a 44-year-old unemployed woman of no fixed address, is charged with causing $190,000 loss by deception to the PSIS bank and $150,000 loss by deception to Superbank in 2004.
She did not enter a plea and was remanded in custody for a pre-depositions hearing in May.
A 29-year-old customer services representative from Glenfield is to appear in court today to face nine charges relating to alleged mortgage fraud worth $540,000.
