A 65-year-old woman has died hours after being hit by a car while out walking in Dunedin this evening.
Police said they were called at 6pm to the crash at the intersection of Dundas St and Great King St.
Police initially said the woman had critical injuries, but just before
8pm issued an update saying the woman had died.
The woman's next of kin are being notified, police said.
The Serious Crash Unit is on its way to the scene of the crash. The road remains closed at the intersection and diversions are in place.
