KEY POINTS:
A 60 year-old woman has died after being hit by a vehicle in the Auckland suburb of Panmure this morning.
Police are not describing the "accident" as a hit-and-run and are trying to find out how the woman received her fatal injuries, said police spokesman Kevin Loughlin.
The woman - of Asian origin - was taken to Auckland hospital after the incident, where she later died. A post-mortem examination will be held tomorrow.
Plice have tonight located the driver of a truck carrying a mini skip who witnessed the incident.
They are still seeking the driver of a Nissan SUV that was travelling beside the truck.
They said early inquiries indicated the deceased had run across the road in front of the SUV.
The driver of SUV vehicle stopped and gave their details to a witness at the scene, but both then departed.
The accident happened after 10.15am this morning.
