Police are appealing for witnesses after a sexual assault in east Hamilton early yesterday.
A 27-year-old woman was walking on Brookfield Street when a man in a car pulled up alongside her and offered her a ride, Hamilton CIB Detective Chris McRae said.
"She accepted his offer and got into the car and was driven to Marshmeadow Road where she was sexually assaulted," he said.
The man drove her to Galloway Park in his silver station wagon-type vehicle about 90 minutes later.
"She managed to get the attention of a council parks worker and ask for help and the offender drove off, around the other side of Galloway Park," Mr McRae said.
There were several people in the area who may have seen the car, victim or offender, he said.
