Instead of June 1 signalling the start of the winter chill, it should bring warm weather as a large high pushes across the country, WeatherWatch says.
Almost every main centre would reach a temperature in the mid to late teens tomorrow, with the first week of winter expected to be mild especially in northern New Zealand, WeatherWatch head weather analyst Philip Duncan said.
A northerly flow across the country this long weekend would lift temperatures into the low 20s for some areas.
