New Zealand First leader Winston Peters has confirmed he will stand as party leader at the election in 2008.
Speaking at the party convention underway in Auckland today, Mr Peters launched an attack on National Party leader Don Brash and on the violent nature of New Zealand society.
Mr Peters said Dr Brash is no friend of New Zealand First.
The New Zealand First leader also said New Zealand men need to wake up and realise that domestic violence is not the New Zealand way.
As for New Zealand First's plans, Mr Peters told the gathering a dedicated senior citizens' card would be launched soon, and it will offer what he called very real benefits.
