Windows smashed in 'drunken rage'

A 13-year-old smashed windows at a police officer's house in "a drunken rage" while the officer was on duty and his terrified family were at home.

The attack in Wairoa left the boy with deep cuts, allowing police to follow a trail of blood to his home.

He has been referred to police Youth Aid and is in Child Youth and Family care.
