A man is in Waikato Hospital after he had his arm partially amputated when he punched a plate glass window in Whakatane overnight.
A Westpac Waikato Air Ambulance spokesman said the injured 24-year-old went to Whakatane police just after midnight.
The spokesman said the man had apparently punched through a large plate glass window and a segment of the window then fell on his arm, like a guillotine.
The man was taken to Whakatane Hospital and then flown to Waikato for further treatment.
