The man convicted of killing stop-go worker George Taiaroa is yet to find out when his appeal will be heard.
Quinton Winders lodged an appeal on December 22 last year against both his murder conviction, and the sentence of life in prison with a non-parole period of 17 years.
A Court of Appeal spokesman confirmed an appeal date was yet to be set.
Mr Taiaroa, 65, was shot dead while operating a stop-go sign at roadworks in Atiamuri in 2013.
Winders was found guilty of the murder in September 2016 after a five-week trial in the High Court at Rotorua. He was sentenced in December.
