Win heralds new era for rainy-day mum

Catching the bus is a thing of the past for Kerryl Buiter. The Mt Eden resident is the lucky winner of the Buy the Herald at Mobil and Win a Nissan Qashqai competition.

"I was so excited I lost my voice," Mrs Buiter said. "I've been walking everywhere and catching the bus. But not any more."

Punters were invited to buy a Herald or Herald on Sunday from their local Mobil station and enter the draw, which ran from April 21 to May 18.

Mrs Buiter purchased at least four Herald newspapers during May at the Mobil station in Dominion Rd. The mother of two has been without a car since November and says the new vehicle - worth about $35,000 - will be well used by her family.

"It has been a struggle at times to get the children off to school - especially in the pouring rain ... I will definitely treasure this fantastic car."
