The Element Celebrity Charity Auction will see some of New Zealand's best-known stars auctioned off to support the world's leading poverty-fighting charity, Oxfam.
A team from Element magazine is literally walking the talk by taking part in the 2014 100km Oxfam Trailwalker to be held at Taupo on April 5-6.
Four work colleagues from APN NZ are undertaking this challenge to raise money for some of the poorest people on the planet.
The team is just a tiny part of a gigantic international effort from Oxfam that includes 17 similar events in 11 countries which has raised an astonishing $150m over the last few years, making it hard to comprehend the joy, relief and lifesaving support this event has already created around the world.
The goal for Oxfam Trail Walker New Zealand is to raise an impressive $1m in 2014.
Element's Celebrity Charity Auction is an exciting fundraiser for the APN NZ team, which is hoping to raise at least $5000.
The fundraiser was the brainchild of Ash Lomberg, the newly appointed business and product development manager at APN, who will also be taking part in the 100km endurance walk.
According to Lomberg: "The motivation was to create a fun fundraiser while also raising awareness for Oxfam."
The auction event will be held at 7pm on March 27 at the Britomart Country Club in the heart of the Auckland CBD. A $10 donation will be asked for at the door.
Everything for this event has been donated including the use of the Britomart Country Club so all proceeds raised on the night will be donated directly to Oxfam.
The winning bidders on the night will get to go out for dinner or lunch with their celebrity at one of the sponsoring restaurants who have generously come on board. The restaurants include prestigious brands such as Merediths, The Hilton's Fish, Orleans, Shore Road Café, Revelry and The Kitchen Collective.

Who will be auctioned on the night?
Award-winning auctioneer Stephen Johnson from Harcourts and and TV presenter Jo Holley will ensure an entertaining and memorable event. A total of 22 celebrities will be auctioned on the night ranging from TV personalities, sporting stars, high-profile business people and pageant queens.
The star-studded line-up includes: X Factor Host Dominic Bowden, Cameron Jones, Charlotte and Samantha Harrison, Stephen McIvor, Belinda Henley, Carly Flynn, Melodie Robinson, James MacOnie, Guy Williams, Sharyn Casey, Clint Roberts, Jono Kenyon, Brent Newdick, Kayla Cullen, Thane Kirby, Carena West, Hamish Pinkham, Geordie McCallum, Ella Langsford, Holly Cassidy and Lauren Matthews.
