Talented Wairarapa horsewoman Emma Williams has another feather in her cap.
A member of the NZEF talent identification squad and winner of the Junior Rider of the Year series at the New Zealand Horse of the Year show in Hastings earlier in the year, Williams has just received notice of being placed third in the World PSI Challenge show jumping competition
A total of 16 nations took part in this competition- in which riders had to be aged between 15yrs and 20yrs- with each of them running their own. event over identical courses and the results being forwarded onto the organising body.
At just 15yrs Williams was the youngest to qualify for the world final when she placed third on Cricklewood Ace in the New Zealand section held at Cambridge last November.
And, remarkably, the St Matthews Collegiate student held that placing when all the results were tallied up, those being placed above her being the other two Kiwis, Jamie Beatson, 19, of Dannevirke and Aliesha Hutton, 19, of Canterbury.
