Wildlife centre gets $10,000 boost

The second annual Twilight at Pukaha Mount Bruce fundraiser raised more than $10,000.

The evening included dinner, entertainment and an auction, and 156 people attended the $95-a-ticket event.

Pukaha Mount Bruce Board chairman Bob Francis said it was a successful evening, with "a lot of fun and a lot of laughs".

Although the final amount was still to be calculated, Mr Francis said they raised at least $10,000 on Friday night.

All the money would go toward the restoration project which includes pest eradication, Mr Francis said.

Prizes included accommodation at the Copthorne Hotel & Resort Solway Park and a weekend away in Hawke's Bay from TRC Toyota.

Mr Francis said some of the art pieces fetched a "really good" amount - one going for over $1000.

"It was a great night," he said.
