Flights have been disrupted due to wild weather across the country today.
Air New Zealand said thunder and lightning delayed services at Auckland airport this morning, snow had affected services to and from Dunedin, and heavy snow showers caused widespread cancellations at Queenstown.
About 800 passengers travelling to and from Queenstown had been affected by cancellations, the airline said.
Some services were able to operate, including an additional Boeing 737 between Queenstown and Christchurch to accommodate passengers from earlier cancelled flights.
However, the remainder of today's Queenstown services were now cancelled.
