The results of a court of inquiry will be released today into the circumstances under which disgraced former Defence Technology Agency director Stephen Wilce was employed.
Mr Wilce, chief defence scientist for five years, resigned several weeks ago following an investigation by the 60 Minutes programme, which revealed he made extravagant claims about his background, including that he had a distinguished combat career.
Foreign Affairs Ministry secretary Neil Walter was appointed to lead an investigation into processes used by the SIS in granting a security clearance to Mr Wilce, while the Defence Force also ran a court of inquiry into the appointment, including assessing what information he had access to.
Defence Force chief Lieutenant General Jerry Mateparae will this afternoon hold a media conference and answer questions relating to the court of inquiry.
