Marcia Alice Robins, wife of former gang leader Darryl Harris, has abandoned an appeal against a six-month jail term she was given after admitting benefit fraud charges.
The case was to be heard in the High Court at Christchurch today, but was not listed to proceed and staff confirmed the appeal had been abandoned.
Robins, 42, pleaded guilty to three charges brought by the Ministry of Social Development on March 26 and was later sentenced to six months' jail.
She admitted dishonestly using documents relating to support payments for rental arrangements. The court was told the total benefit overpayment was $12,442.
The money is being reclaimed through regular deductions from Robins' benefit.
