KEY POINTS:
The small South Canterbury town of Temuka is agog.
Who won $1 million? A ticket bought in the town of 4000 won last Saturday's first division prize of $1,020,720 but so far the money has not been claimed.
Scott Shannon, owner of the Take Note store where the ticket was sold, said today: "It's the hot topic of conversation. Everybody in town knows about the unclaimed prize but nobody has any idea who could be the winner."
NZ Lotteries chief executive Todd McLeay said, "We normally hear from our big winners within a couple of days of their prize being won."
Not this time.
