With local elections in October, the Time-Age checks in with our Masterton District councillors to find out if they are up for another term, and what is on their minds.

Wishlist:: To see progress with infrastructure continue.
Deputy Mayor Jane Terpstra
Status: Undecided, not standing for mayoralty
Experience: Three terms
Wishlist: To see the completion of the sewage project and a proposal for governance reform lodged with the Local Government Commission.
Judith Callaghan

Pip Hannon
Status: Standing for election
Experience: One term
Wishlist: I would like to see the amalgamation issues worked through in a transparent manner. And to have for all Wairarapa children (age 5 -13) free access to swimming lessons.
David Holmes

Wishlist: To get behind the Wairarapa Irrigation Trust to get on with the job and see some progressive people on council
Chris Peterson

Wishlist: To encourage a wider understanding of the very serious challenges ahead for all of us as global citizens - such as, but certainly not limited to, climate change - and a more inclusive community that builds resilience by caring and sharing.
Graham McClymont

Wishlist: to continue to support officers with Homebush management plan, infrastructure around town and keep a watch on rural roading. Top of list is to see the governance review outcome with a minimum of the three Wairarapa councils amalgamated.

Wishlist: to maintain all council services to at least their current levels. To continue to support community groups with a proven record which falls into the public service category.

Wishlist: Council needs to be more transparent, to take the public with us in the decision making process. I am determined to see progress made in that area even if it means standing on a few toes.

Wishlist: See Homebush successfully commissioned and running according to plan and the decommissioning of old ponds. A continued upgrade of infrastructure, more vibrant economy.

Wishlist: Local government reform is underway in Wairarapa and I would like to see that through to completion. Reform and change are never without challenge and my wish for councils is our communities working together.
