CTV building survivor Anne Malcolm wants a simple question answered: Who is the man helping her in this photo?
Ms Malcolm, mother of the Outrageous Fortune actress Robyn Malcolm, is desperate to meet her guardian angel.
"I'd love to track him down. I'd love to thank him for helping and coming to my aid," she said.
"He was probably in significant danger himself."
Ms Malcolm is recovering in Burwood Hospital with a broken hip, broken femur, broken arms, broken vertebrae, cracked ribs and dislocated shoulders.
The 71-year-old counsellor and grandmother was on the top floor of the CTV building when it collapsed, entombing as many as 120 people.
Miraculously, she rode the crumbling building down to the ground and lived.
Ms Malcolm is one of 14 people on the fifth floor who was pulled alive from the wreckage.
One of her colleagues at Relationship Service Whakawhanaungatanga did not make it out.
"Without his help it could have been a different story. He was there immediately. It appeared there wasn't any hesitation. He put his own safety aside."
