Were you one of the people who applied for this job and wondered who got it?
Job title: Equities analyst.
For: Macquarie Bank.
Stephen Freundlich's new job puts him "on the other side of the fence."
He is now working out his final days at Westpac, where he is a corporate credit analyst writing lending proposals for blue-chip clients.
He will soon be a Macquarie Bank equities analyst, "doing evaluations of companies and trying to get others to buy in to them", he says.
"Fund managers have big chunks of money to invest.
"While they have their own analysts, they also need support from the broking firms.
"I'll have to understand the companies at the micro level," he says.
"You have to believe in it to be able to sell it.
"If you're not in there it would be hard to try and convince others to get in.
"It's more of a sales focus, about establishing relationships, building trust."
The change takes him to "quite the opposite side, but lots of the terminology used is the same."
Auckland born and bred, 29-year-old Freundlich has a bachelor of commerce degree from the University of Auckland.
He is about to wrap up three years of part-time study by correspondence for a graduate diploma in applied finance and investment from the Securities Institute of Australia.
The recruiter for the position, David Stanley, says the company considered 31 applications, which were generally of a high quality.
