What were you doing before accepting your new position?
I spent the last eight years with Media Technology, heading up the NZ operation in Auckland as general manager.
For the last three years in Australia as part of Media Technology's growth strategy and public float.
What does your new job entail?
General management, with a sales and marketing focus along with strategic development planning. Positioning the company for future trends in both New Zealand and Australia and growing the business and its profitability for all our stake holders
What major challenges are ahead?
Presenting our local innovation in a way that New Zealanders will treat our products, services and solutions developed and presented locally with the same interest and enthusiasm as those that are developed overseas.
What does being general manager mean to you?
It's an exciting time to lead a team of talented individuals in a period where the industry has multiple opportunities to head in a broad range of differing directions.
Helping find the key directions and making those opportunities count to deliver win/win solutions make life more exciting.
What else might you have done?
Leading people is my passion and the excitement of technology is where I like to be, so this type of role is what I enjoy most.
What do you do in your spare time?
I'm a keen and active water and snow sports person and my wife and I spend a lot of time snow skiing both in New Zealand and overseas. Being with friends and enjoying the fun of the Auckland inner city lifestyle is also hard to beat when waiting for the next adventure to start.
