Were you one of the 67 people who applied for this job and wondered who got it?
Job: Financial controller.
For: Post Haste Couriers.
Bernadine Biggs has never worked in a service industry before, but service isn't an alien notion to an accountant.
She explains: "That service mentality is something I'm doing every day."
Biggs, aged 35, was born in the Falkland Islands but came to New Zealand when she was 9.
She spent 10 years in Britain working for Diageo, owner of food brands such as Burger King, Smirnoff and Baileys.
Back in New Zealand for the past two years, she has been working for car parts retailer Repco.
Her new job, which will be based at Penrose, calls for a "pro-active, highly analytical, supportive" chartered accountant to drive and develop financial operations and policy.
"I was looking for increased responsibility," says Biggs.
"I have been working in management accounting and planning, and previously financials. I was wanting to bring all these things back together at a higher level."
Biggs has had the rare opportunity to meet many of her colleagues-to-be in advance - she was included in the recent Post Haste company conference, complete with team-building exercises.
"It was a real luxury to meet the entire branch network so early on," she says.
"The team of people there are really passionate about what they're doing."
