Job title: Marketing manager, Griffins Foods
Stress? No problem. In fact, Vicky Taylor, 30, thrives on the relentless pace and quick-turnaround ethos of the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry.
"You can see the results of what you do almost immediately," she says, and confesses that she gets a kick out of seeing someone in a supermarket or dairy with a product she has helped to nurture.
"There's a feeling that you're involved with people's lives, that you're having an impact on people," says Taylor, who has a 17-strong team of marketers reporting to her.
Griffins Foods, owned by France-based company Group Danone, needs little introduction in the average Kiwi household - its products include biscuits such as Mallowpuffs and Toffee Pops, ETA chips, nuts and snack bars.
Taylor was attracted to the job because she sought "the benefits of an FMCG business that controlled every part of the marketing mix in the New Zealand market, but still had global resources to call upon. There aren't many like that".
Christchurch-born Taylor graduated from Canterbury University with a commerce degree specialising in finance and marketing. She started with brewer Lion Nathan in the city, moving to Auckland with the company and later joining New Zealand Dairy Foods.
She joined the Quality Bakers division of Goodman Fielder in 1998, and became marketing manager and team leader of the baked division in August 2000.
