Job title: Public Affairs Manager
For: Clear Communications
"Clear is a very fussy client," says Horner and Partners consultant Peter Kerridge. "They set very high standards."
Forty people applied for the job - only three were sent to Clear for an interview.
Ralph Little, who has come from United Networks where he was external relations manager, fitted the IT company's bill, and he starts on Tuesday. "This is a great opportunity to join and contribute to a company which has changed New Zealand's telecommunications industry for the better, and will keep on doing so," said Little, a University of Waikato graduate in marketing and organisational behaviour.
He admired Clear's "challenger culture," and said he could use "strategic communication" to help the business. "I'll be developing and delivering internal and external communications which support Clear's important relationships, business strategy, policy objectives, and help enable a new regulatory framework.
"If I help Clear to deliver better business performance and a better deal for even more New Zealand consumers, I'll have been successful," he said.
He believes important qualities in his new job are an interest in technology and the ability to embrace change, as well as media savvy and political astuteness.
