Q: Were you one of the 45 people who applied for this job and wondered who got it?
Job title: Category manager, Goodman Fielder New Zealand.
Jon Huxley, 28, is delighting in his new life and his new job as category manager for Goodman Fielder's heat and eat foods - Irvines pies and Leaning Tower pizzas.
Born and bred in Newcastle, England, he moved to New Zealand in January with his English partner, whose family has already moved here.
Huxley is revelling in what he says is a more relaxed Kiwi office culture, which he thinks is making him more productive.
"I'm sitting here without wearing a tie!" he marvels. "That would be unheard of in England."
And he's not missing a corporate culture where it was thought if "you didn't hang around for two hours after closing, you weren't doing a good job. I enjoy my life more because I have more of a balance".
His new post extends the career path he set in England, where he worked in sales and account management for Scottish and Newcastle Breweries, makers of Fosters and Newcastle Brown Ale, and for a wine and cider supplier.
After arriving here, he did a short stint at New Zealand Dairy Foods.
Huxley's new post moves him on into the analytical and strategic side of things - "the link between marketing and sales".
"My role is to raise the profile of pies and pizza," he says.
"It was the next step up from a key account manager position, and a large enough company to give me prospects for the future."
