Whitford truck crash closes road

A truck crashed into a power pole on Whitford-Maraetai Road south of Auckland this afternoon, bringing down power lines and closing the road.

Police say the truck driver suffered moderate injuries in the crash, which happened soon after 12pm.

Counties Manukau police have closed the road as repairs are made and the truck is removed. Motorists are advised to travel via Clevedon.
