Police have been informed of a scam being used in Northland during the past few days.
Offenders approach people on the street with a practised sales pitch offering home audio products.
These products are packaged and the goods are inferior and not what is advertised on the box, police say.
Trade Me has labelled this "the white van scam" as the offenders drive a white van.
Anyone who is approached by these people should contact police.
