The New Zealand sharemarket slumped 1.3 per cent in the first minutes of trading today after Wall Street plunged nearly 3 per cent on further worries about the US subprime mortgage market.
The NZSX-50 index, which jumped over 1 per cent yesterday, dropped 53.13 points to 4107.3 by 10.05am.
