A young driver who wheelspun his way into a hedge has been disqualified from driving.
Sam Douglas Gray, 17, was sentenced in Masterton District Court yesterday after pleading guilty to driving with a sustained loss of traction.
Police prosecutor Sergeant Neill Ford said Gray had been driving his Nissan vehicle west along Cornwall St about 2.20pm on Saturday, October 17.
It was sunny and the road was dry when Gray's wheels began spinning and his car fishtailed and slid backwards into a hedge.
The car was still in the hedge when police arrived on the scene.
