AUCKLAND
Manukau City's Waitangi Day family celebrations

At least 35,000 people are expected at Hayman Park for Manukau City's 10th annual Waitangi Day family celebrations - possibly the second largest in the country outside Waitangi.
Expect lots of different kai, entertainment, rides and stalls when the event kicks off.
Groove in the Park
Western Springs Stadium, 12pm to 9pm, $10.
American DJ Roger Sanchez is the headliner in a huge line-up of local and international acts at the stadium from midday. Some of the proceeds are going to the Child Cancer Foundation.
The Auckland International Buskers Festival
Aotea Square, Vulcan Lane, Westfield Downtown, Princes Wharf, Viaduct Harbour and O'Hagen's Market Square, 12pm to 6pm, Free.
Auckland's 6th annual International Buskers Festival features 20 overseas acts including acrobats, jugglers, magicians, pavement arts, contortion and comedians.
Waitakere Sounds
Henderson Park, 1pm to 6pm, Free.
The Waitangi Day launch concert at Henderson Park features crooner John Rowles, Herbs unplugged, The Yandall Sisters, Indira and Ladi 6.
HMS Orpheus memorial unveiling
Rose Garden reserve, Mangere Bridge, 12pm to 4pm, Free.
A half-sized replica cannon from the Royal Navy corvette HMS Orpheus, which foundered on the Manukau Bar with the loss of 189 lives in February 1863, will be unveiled at Mangere Bridge by the Manukau City Council and Orpheus Festival Committee.
Entertainment starts at noon at the Rose Garden reserve at Mangere Bridge, followed by a parade at 2pm.
Dignitaries including Prime Minister Helen Clark and Mayor of Manukau Sir Barry Curtis will arrive at 2.45pm.

TAURANGA
A special dawn service commemorating the signing of Te Tiriti o Waitangi will be held at the summit of Mauao.
At 5.30am transport will be available to take the elderly and dignitaries to the summit. The service will start at 6.30am and be followed by an open forum.
A free concert and art exhibition on the main beach of Mt Maunganui to commemorate Waitangi Day.
The event is drug- and alcohol-free, with music covering all genres from 11.30am to 7pm.

HAMILTON
Hamilton City Waitangi Day commemorations 2007
Innes Common, Hamilton City, 7am to 5pm, Free.
Formalities start at 7am with a karakia, flag-raising and powhiri followed by a day of entertainment including kapa haka and performances from every ethnic group in Hamilton. A Treaty forum has a workshop display and information site.
There's also a dance contest, graffiti artists working and a waka display.
