* Auckland Zoo's new alligator exhibit opens this weekend, welcoming four new alligators from Australia. Zoo is open daily from 9.30am to 5.30pm.

* The Auckland Festival of Photography started yesterday - a city-wide contemporary art and cultural event which will take place within Auckland's major galleries, project spaces, non-gallery venues and public sites for the month of June.
