This week for our "What I do" series, we'll be speaking to obstetrician scientist Professor Phil Baker.
Professor Baker is director of Gravida: National Centre for Growth and Development, and has a particular interest in pregnancy complications preeclampsia and intrauterine growth restriction.
Other research interests include vascular adaptation to pregnancy, placental cell invasion, placental cell turnover, endothelial progenitor cells, adverse pregnancy outcome in teenage pregnancies, foetal origins of adult disease (such as schizophrenia) and the effect of maternal stress on pregnancy outcome, and MRI imaging in pregnancy.
