One person has been critically injured following an incident involving a truck and a pedestrian on State Highway 1 in Whangārei.
Otaika Rd was closed in both directions while emergency services responded but has since reopened.
According to a reporter at the scene, at least half a dozen police cars, Hato Hone St John, and Fire and Emergency New Zealand were attending.
The Serious Crash Unit was also advised.
Around 10am there was a line of traffic backed up both north and south of the crash.
