Whangarei marina plan draws submissions

A proposed $5 million marina for Parua Bay, on the northern side of Whangarei Harbour, has drawn 293 submissions to local authorities.

Parua Bay Developments, made up of Northland and Auckland business interests, wants to establish the 176-berth marina near Solomons Pt.

Submitters opposed to the marina total 209, with 84 in favour.

The Whangarei District Council and the Northland Regional Council will jointly consider the application.
