A Whangarei man has pleaded guilty to discharging a firearm while intoxicated in a residential area after he fired an air rifle at a noise control officer.
Anthony John Wilson, 45, admitted in the Whangarei District Court to discharging a firearm, recklessly discharging a firearm and being in charge of a firearm while intoxicated.
The incidents happened on July 24 after a compliant about Wilson's stereo.
Wilson fired at a noise control officer, who left the property unhurt, and the police armed offenders' squad were called to the house.
Wilson will be sentenced in October.
