Whangarei Hospital redevelopment approved

The Government has given the go ahead for the $25 million stage one redevelopment of Whangarei Hospital.

"It means there will be more mental health treatment options at Whangarei Hospital, including the establishment of sub-acute facilities," Health Minister Tony Ryall said.

The money will come from Northland DHB's cash reserved and no central funding is needed for the stage one development.
