The Fire Service says it has contained a large house fire in Whanganui this morning.
The fire thought to have broken out around 6am "was all out now", Fire Service shift manager David Miekle said.
Four fire trucks were at the house in Kawatiri Avenue, in the Whanganui suburb of Gonville, for about an hour.
No injuries had been reported and fire safety officers would now investigate the cause of the blaze, Mr Miekle said.
