A schoolgirl left fighting for her life after a driver ploughed into a group of children at a bus stop has improved dramatically overnight.
The girl and four other students were injured on Wednesday morning near Westlake Girls' High School on Auckland's North Shore shortly before the school day started.

All of the injured were students from Girls' High and nearby Westlake Boys' High School.
The girl suffered the most significant injuries and was rushed to Starship Hospital.
