While the country lost an hour overnight, one lucky Lotto player will gain $2 million into their bank account after winning Lotto First Division.
The winning ticket was sold at Fitzherbert Street Four Square in Hokitika, a Lotto spokeswoman said.
Powerball was not struck and had now jackpotted to $6 million.
Strike Four also jackpotted and would be worth $400,000 in next week's draw, the spokeswoman said.
Meanwhile, Anne from Christchurch spun the Winning Wheel and won $200,000 last night.
