KEY POINTS:
MetService meteorologists yesterday forecast more warm, dry weather for the rest of this week and the start of next week.
"A large area of high pressure has stalled in the Tasman Sea," said MetService forecaster Bob McDavitt.
"This is bringing generally settled weather for the next 10 days, just right for the school groups who have chosen this time for their annual camp."
He said the weather would not be 100 per cent fine and dry everywhere.
"There are some kinks in the shielding that these high pressures offer."
Easterly winds could bring showers to the Far North today and tomorrow and a weak frontal system was expected bring a southerly change late this week, Mr McDavitt said.
"The good news is that there is plenty of sunshine for outdoor activities."
Mr McDavitt said daytime temperatures had already reached their summer peak, but were still on the warm side.
