Llanelli's Scarlets rugby team is hot on the trail of a man involved in an altercation with Cardiff's new star winger, Jonah Lomu.
The Scarlets have promised to ban the fan for life and are appealing for help in identifying the man, who was involved in an incident with Lomu during a Monday evening match in Llanelli. The incident was captured on the cameras of S4C, the Welsh language television company, which has sent the club a still image.
A club spokesperson said the man's picture would run in the Llanelli Star under the headline: "Wanted".
After the ball went out of play and Lomu went to fetch it, the supporter, dressed in Scarlets' colours, threw it away. According to one report he then verbally abused Lomu, and may have challenged him to a fight.
Stuart Gallacher, the Llanelli chief executive, said: "We have apologised to Cardiff and to Jonah Lomu. This sort of behaviour is a disgrace to the club and to the game of rugby."
