A train service was cancelled and motorists warned to watch out on the roads after icy conditions were reported this morning.
TranzMetro said the 5am service from Waikanae to Wellington was cancelled between Porirua to Wellington due to "adverse weather conditions"
Police advised motorists in the greater Wellington area to drive with extra care this morning.
"Police are receiving several reports of ice on the road around Aro Valley and other suburbs in the greater Wellington Area, including Porirua, Lower and Upper Hutt and Wellington City itself."
