Wellington's award-winning Tsunami Blue Lines Project has caught the eye of an emergency management service in the US.
The project was developed by the Island Bay community to raise awareness about evacuating plans in the event of a tsunami.
It's now been adopted by the Oregon Office of Emergency Management - one of the first of its kind in the US.
Wellington Emergency Management Office manager Bruce Pepperell said the blue lines concept has sparked interest from further abroad including the Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre and Japan.
