Train services between Wellington and the Hutt Valley have stopped after a car crashed on the railway tracks today.
The incident happened about 4.15pm when the male driver was heading south near the Petone overbridge, central police communications Inspector Ken Climo said.
"The driver has then attempted to change lanes but the vehicle has ended up on the railway tracks and is still currently there."
The driver suffered minor injuries.
State Highway Two southbound has been reduced to one lane and delays were expected, Mr Climo said.
