Wellington split on V8 race

Public submissions are being called for on whether Wellington should host the V8 Supercars race.

Councillor Stephanie Cook said she has been surprised by the diversity of people who have an interest.

They range from environmentalists to business people, inner-city residents and even from people from outside the region.

Ms Cook said it was difficult to point to a particular group in the community that is for or against the race.
