KEY POINTS:
Police said last night that 11-year-old Taita schoolgirl Aniwa Mihaere had been found safe and well, staying with relatives in northern Hawkes Bay.
"We're unsure of all the details at this stage but she's safe and well and that's the main thing," said Detective Sergeant Scott Cooper. Aniwa's foster family reported her missing on Friday night, having last seen her at 7.30pm.
Mr Cooper thanked the public for their assistance.
