A group of Wellington residents has won its fight to stop a local brothel from operating in a suburban street.
Earlier this week Mount Victoria residents took the Wellington City Council to court to challenge its decision allowing the Lovely Lily Brothel in Pirie Street to increase its number of workers from three to five.
A judge has ruled the council';s decision to issue the resource consent to the brothel was made in error. It orders the Wellington City Council to revoke the consent.
The council says it is reviewing the decision as a matter of urgency.
