Wellington police are investigating two assaults in the central city overnight.
Both incidents happened on Courtenay Place between 2am and 2.30am today.
The first was outside Rain Bar where an Asian man was assaulted after he was verbally abused by two people.
A second assault involved two groups of males outside Reading Cinemas.
Police believe the incidents were unrelated, and are asking witnesses to call the Central Police Station on 04 381 2000 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
