Wellington police are concerned for a 65-year-old Alzheimer's sufferer who has been missing all day from her Newlands home.
Mrs Irihapeti Matiaha was last seen at her Bracken Road address about 9am.
She is described as Maori, 1.68m tall, medium to large build and with shoulder-length greying black hair.
She was last seen wearing a dark blue/purple windbreaker with Sir Edmund Hillary Collegiate on it, a black blazer with a Tui logo, ankle-length denim jeans and black velcro closing instep shoes.
Police said Mrs Matiaha also wore a St John bracelet with her name and contact details on it.
A central police communications spokesman told APNZ Mrs Matiaha would often get on public buses and ride around the city for hours.
